Last month, a manufacturing client came to us with a frustration — every day, their team processes dozens of customer order emails. Staff must manually extract product model, quantity, delivery date from each email, then enter everything into business systems line by line.

As a team that lives by "if code can solve it, don't do it by hand," we decided to build a custom desktop tool.

- Email Ingest — Drag-and-drop .eml files, paste full email text, or POP3 mailbox sync — three flexible options
- Smart Parse — Auto-extract sender, subject, body, attachments
- AI Extract — LLM understands natural language and extracts product model, quantity, delivery date, and other key fields
- Write to Feishu/Notion/CRM — Auto-write by product line to the correct target database or integration endpoint. Attachments uploaded to cloud and linked to the record.
- Done — Real-time progress visible, complete processing history retained for every email

When choosing the desktop framework, we considered Electron but went with Tauri v2:
- Lightweight — Rust kernel, package size in megabytes vs. Electron's hundreds of MB
- Secure — Local SQLite storage. All data stays on-premise, meeting strict manufacturing data security requirements
- Native experience — Apple-style dual-theme UI with React 18 + Tailwind CSS
- Pluggable AI — OpenAI API-compatible architecture. Customers can swap LLMs without touching code
